TL;DR. bcs (Business Credentialing Services) is a certificate of insurance tracking platform for property managers, general contractors and risk teams across 12 industries, sold as software or as a full service run by its own compliance analysts. Contracts Connected is built only for construction: it sends the subcontract, collects every document the vendor owes against it, and shows who can mobilize and who can be paid. Pick bcs if the certificate is the whole job, or you want a team to run it; pick Contracts Connected if the certificate is one line on a contract package.
Every fact about bcs below comes from bcs’s own website and help center, read on November 4, 2026. Contracts Connected is our product. We say where bcs is the better choice, and we hold our own product to the same standard.
At a glance
| Contracts Connected | bcs | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Construction: general contractors and the teams that send contracts to vendors | Property managers, general contractors, risk managers and procurement teams, across 12 industries from real estate and construction to education and government |
| What it collects | COI, W-9, license, bonds, lien waivers, weekly certified payroll on prevailing wage jobs, closeout documents | COIs, endorsements and policy pages; W-9s, licenses, contracts, and EMR and OSHA records through requirements and onboarding forms |
| How a COI gets read | With AI on, the AI reads each certificate and its endorsement pages against the project’s insurance requirements and recommends accept or reject; your team decides | Two technologies read every document and flag any disagreement for a person; on Full-Service, bcs’s compliance analysts review. A RiskBot Review Agent add-on can complete compliant submissions automatically |
| Contracts | Built on your own templates, approved inside, sent as one package, redlined and e-signed inside | An E-Signatures module sends agreements, such as a hold harmless or a vendor contract, from a PDF you upload, for the vendor to sign and your team to countersign; contract drafting and redlining not found on their site as of November 4, 2026 |
| Vendor side | Vendors set up a free account from the link in their email and never pay | Vendors and their agents upload from a link or the mobile app with no login, and sign without one; basic membership is free, and Full-Service offers an option where vendors pay the fee |
| AI | Optional: no AI, or AI COI Review that reads and recommends. The AI agent that chases vendors by email and phone is in beta with a wait list | BCS AI extracts each certificate and tells blanket endorsements from scheduled ones; RiskBot, which bcs calls an insurance tracking AI agent, summarizes compliance and automates renewal reminders |
| Integrations | Project management, accounting and ERP systems, worked out with each customer, case by case | A Procore integration built and maintained by bcs, with a bcs panel inside Procore; Yardi and MRI; Vista named on its demo page; an open API. Sage and Autodesk not found as bcs integrations |
| Pricing (as published) | Foundation from $416 a month; Core and Max quoted | Free up to 25 vendors; Self-Service $0.95 per vendor a month, depending on volume; Full-Service $17.80 per vendor a year with a $10,000 annual minimum |
Where bcs is the better pick
- You want to start free. bcs is free for up to 25 vendors with all software features, and its pricing page says the free plan is permanent, not a trial.
- You want a team to run it. On Full-Service, bcs’s compliance analysts review the documents, and bcs says it makes live phone calls to vendors and their insurance agents, with no cap on attempts.
- You want compliance inside Procore today. bcs builds and maintains its own Procore integration. It syncs projects, vendor companies, contacts and insurance policies, and adds a bcs panel inside Procore.
- You track tenants and vendors outside construction. bcs serves property managers, risk managers and procurement teams across 12 industries, so one team can run every certificate through one tool.
- You want vendors to upload without an account. Vendors and their agents upload from a link or the mobile app with no login.
Where Contracts Connected is the better pick
- The certificate belongs to a contract. In Contracts Connected the insurance requirement comes from the project, the certificate is tied to the vendor’s subcontract, and an expired COI keeps that vendor from being cleared to mobilize.
- You collect more than insurance. Lien waivers with every pay application and weekly certified payroll on prevailing wage jobs live in the same vendor file as the COI. We didn’t find either on bcs’s site.
- You draft the contract, not only collect a signature. bcs’s E-Signatures module sends an agreement from a PDF you upload. In Contracts Connected, contracts are built on your own templates with the project’s data entered once, routed through your approvals, sent as one package, redlined and signed inside.
- You’d rather not count vendors or jobs. Foundation is a flat price from $416 a month with unlimited vendors. bcs prices per vendor, and its help center bills per account, so one vendor on three jobs that need different additional insureds counts as three.
What they share
Both read the certificate and its endorsements against your requirements instead of only watching the expiration date. Both tell the vendor what to fix when a certificate falls short. Both collect W-9s alongside the certificate, and both are free for vendors to upload. If you’re comparing the wider field of certificate tools, our COI tracking software guide covers eight of them.
How we compared
We read bcs’s home, pricing, Full-Service, BCS AI, construction, who-we-help, vendor, integrations and about pages, and its help center articles on the Procore integration, e-signatures, onboarding forms, billing and the RiskBot Review Agent, on November 4, 2026. We recorded what each says about documents, review, contracts, AI, integrations and pricing. Where bcs’s site didn’t mention a feature, we wrote “not found on their site” rather than claiming it doesn’t exist. Where its pages disagree, we used the pricing page and noted what the help center adds. We didn’t use review sites or other vendors’ comparison pages. Our co-founder ran a large federal general contracting firm for 15 years, about 100,000 documents a year.
Frequently asked questions
Is bcs built for construction?
bcs serves property managers, general contractors, risk managers and procurement teams across 12 industries, and it has a page for general contractors. Contracts Connected is built only for construction contracts and the documents behind them.
Does bcs use people or AI to review a COI?
Both. bcs says every document is read by two technologies, and when they disagree the difference goes to a person. On Full-Service, bcs’s compliance analysts do the review. Its help center describes a RiskBot Review Agent add-on that completes compliant submissions automatically. In Contracts Connected the AI reads and recommends, and your own team accepts or rejects.
Does bcs track lien waivers and certified payroll?
We didn’t find lien waivers or certified payroll on bcs’s site as of November 4, 2026. Contracts Connected collects both, in the same vendor file as the certificate of insurance.
Can bcs send subcontracts for signature?
Yes, as a PDF. bcs’s E-Signatures module sends agreements, such as a hold harmless, an indemnification agreement or a vendor contract, from a PDF template you upload; the vendor signs and your team countersigns. We didn’t find contract drafting or redlining on its site. In Contracts Connected the subcontract is built on your template, approved, sent and signed inside the same system.
Does bcs integrate with Procore?
Yes. bcs says it builds and maintains its own Procore integration, which syncs projects, vendor companies, contacts and insurance policies and adds a bcs panel inside Procore. It also names Yardi and MRI, and an open API. Contracts Connected works out each integration with the customer, case by case, for the project management and accounting systems they run.
How much does bcs cost?
bcs’s pricing page lists a free plan for up to 25 vendors, Self-Service at $0.95 per vendor a month depending on volume, and Full-Service at $17.80 per vendor a year with a $10,000 annual minimum. Its help center bills per account, a job or a lease you track a certificate for, and its September 2026 release notes name newer Professional and Enterprise plans, so confirm the current price with bcs. Contracts Connected’s Foundation plan starts at $416 a month with unlimited vendors; see pricing.
Do vendors need an account?
Not to upload or sign with bcs: vendors and their agents use a link or the mobile app with no login. Basic membership is free, and Full-Service offers an option where vendors cover the fee. Contracts Connected vendors set up a free account from the link in their email and never pay, not to register, not to upload, not to sign.
